As you probably already know – thanks to several articles on our homepage and numerous FB-Post with photos – our Portugal Service team is entirely animal friendly. We love animals and in so no wonder at all if we declare once again that it is still our aim to offer our clients with pets the best service for their animal.
We are be happy to provide you with information on all the services and facilities available here in the Algarve in terms of animal medicine. Unfortunately, sometimes it can happen that your animal is not doing well during your holidays – either bitten by a bee, or some dirty food picked up on the street – this kind of accident occurs often outside the opening hours of the animal practices. But don’t worry, there is an emergency number that you can call at any time.
Under the number +351 760 450 911 the Linha Saúde Animal 24, a professional team of veterinarians and nurses answer all the questions of worried animal owners without any interruption (day and night).
Here a little extract of an interview with Ms Carolina Rebelo (the founder of the initiative):
"Our experience as veterinarians has showed us, that animal owners often have some uncertainties about their pet. Either because they do not dare to ask the questions in practice, or because the questions arise outside of the consultation hours. So, we have been looking for an adequate solution, in order to eliminate any kind of doubts and above all to ensure the wellbeing of the animal. In setting up our service, we have also noticed that there is no adequate platform on the Internet. That is why we have also made a website (saudeanimal24.pt).
The team provides useful advice, tries to assess the situation and is networked with the regional veterinary practices and centers. The experts at Linha Saúde Animal 24 answer questions about health problems of dogs, cats, horses, guinea pigs, hamsters, iguanas or birds. Each call costs 60 cents (+ IVA/VAT), no matter how long the consultation takes."
