The climate in the algarve
The Algarve is truly a year round destination! Spring and summer is long and winter is short but mild.
This is the region in Portugal with the best climate. Whilst there is snow and negative temperatures in the northern areas of the country, in the Algarve the sun is shining for you. Winter is also the best time of the year to find ‘out of season’ inexpensive accommodation.
For those who travels in winter to Portugal: Its not swimming weather, but the climate is mild during the day and you can take a pleasant sunbathing in a protected corner!
Sometimes it will rain. But rain dosnt last more than three days at a time, but usually much less. Sun, a few clouds, a rainshower, sun again - in the rhythm about.
Through the rain everything is green in the beginning of the year - and that looks beautiful. Many herbs and wildflowers sprout, the wild asparagus is growing and you will see the oranges growing in their farms.
Winter is the best time for hiking, biking and golf. It is the quiet time of the year – time to relax!
The summer starts in May or June. Sometimes it is summer even up till November.
When its autumn somewhere else already- here in the algarve we still have summer temperatures.
Each season has its advantages. The golf courses are open all year round, so it is up to you to decide if you prefer to play during the warmer months of July and August, or the cooler sunny months of October through to the end of April. The Algarve’s beaches may also be enjoyed throughout the year. Many are not only known for their fantastic infinite white sand and blue cool waters, but also for their seaside restaurants.
The Algarve - a all year round destination – come and enjoy!
